Most AI advice comes from people who have never run a crew, made payroll, or sweated a slow month. Mine comes from doing exactly that for forty years.

Where This Started

I am Amber Atlee. With my husband John, we own Water Doctors, a water treatment company in Wisconsin that has been serving homeowners and businesses for forty years. My title, only half joking, is MOJO. Manager of John and Operations. That is where the name of this company comes from.

Running a real business means the work never stops piling up. Email, receivables, hiring, reports, the same questions answered over and over. So I taught myself AI and started pointing it at the parts of the day that were quietly costing us the most time.

I did not read about it. I built it, broke it, fixed it, and kept the parts that worked. Everything I teach came out of that.

"I told a customer today they did not need what they came in to buy. That honesty is the whole business. It is also how I teach AI."

Building AI for myself was the easy part. The real test was getting John and every employee to actually use it, trust it, and know where its limits are. So I set the rules. What we use AI for, how we use it, and what is off limits.

That framework is what I bring to other owners. Not a demo, not a slide deck. A way to roll AI into a working business without losing the judgment that made the business work in the first place.
